Digitally Spliced Images are even more Resolute than the individual 4x5 transparencies
MOUNT JEFFERSON WILDERNESS
JEFFERSON PARK

Below is an example of the high resolution within the large print above
This is the only way I could think of to illustrate the resolution of a Large Print on a Web Page.
The print I'm in front of measures 39 x 72 inches. The white frame I'm holding borders a 4 x 5 inch area
which is enlarged below. The pen I'm holding points out the location of two hikers down in the Park. In the
image below I've placed a white rectangle around the two hikers... get the idea?
. . . it seems as though I could take out my binoculars !

This image was originally 2 horizontal 4x5 images. In my preparation of removing dust and any other
undesirable flaws which were present in the original scans of the film, I noticed a Bee in the left frame,
flying by in the far left just above the horizon. In the image below I've drawn a black rectangle around the
location of the Bee in flight... WOW !
High Resolution is so cool.
In the image below I've placed a black arrow pointing out the Bee's location, a bit pixelated but hey, it's a Bee !

I always strive in the field to capture the perfect Image, but it doesn't always happen. First and foremost
the image needs to be in FOCUS as well as having the proper exposure - that goes without saying.
The really BIG problem is that the outdoors is way too big to fit onto one piece of film... so I began
shooting Panoramic Panels in my attempt to capture it all on Film. The Panels lead me to either hanging the
images next to each other on the wall or Digitally Splicing two or more images together. WOW, I thought
it was tough matching the Color & Contrast as well as correcting the Lens Distortion just when hanging
Panels next to each other on the wall! Not to mention the difficulty involved in transportation & installation
of such Displays. But the end result is a Huge, Seamless, High Definition Image that truly is stunning -
immediately transporting the viewer to the site.
